Halle gave a terrific performance playing the title role in "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge" {1999}. Her performance was well received and won her several awards including the Emmy and Golden Globe and was also nominated for Academy Award in 'Best Actress' category. Then came her biggest movie, "Monster's Ball" in 2001. She played the role of the wife of a murderer and gave an intense performance, which won her the prestigious Academy Award for Best Actress including the 'National Board of Review and the Screen Actors Guild' prize. Thus Halle Maria Berry made history by becoming the first African American woman ever to win a 'Best Actress' Academy Award.

From Oscar winning performance in "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge" {1999} to her worst acting in "Catwoman" {2004}, one could say, Halle Berry is the only actress who has proved her extremities in acting. She won the 'worst actress' Razzie award for her role in the movie, "Catwoman". While taking the 'worst actress' award she was quoted as having said, "to be at the top, you must experience the rock bottom". One must truly appreciate her courage and sense of humor. Incidentally Halle was paid $14 million for "Catwoman" making her the highest paid actress in Hollywood.
