The beauty queen of Hollywood won several beauty contests like 'Miss Ohio USA' and 'Miss Teen All-American'. Delighted by her success at beauty contests, Halle set her sights on Hollywood in quest of a modeling and acting career. In 1989, Halle got her first break with "Living Dolls", a short-lived television series. Before finally landing her breakthrough movie "Jungle Fever". in 1991, Halle Berry appeared in a couple of television dramas like "Amen"; "A Different World"; "They Came from Outer Space". {all three were telecast in 1991}. Her notable television dramas include "Queen" and "Father Hood " {both 1993 telecasts}; "The Wedding" and "Frasier" {both 1998 telecasts}.
In a Spike Lee-directed film, "Jungle Fever", Halle was cast as a drug-addict named Vivian. In "Boomerang" {1992}, a romantic comedy Halle donned with ease the role of a woman who falls for Eddie Murphy. She proved her acting abilities in "Losing Isaiah" {1995}, playing the role of an ex-drug addict fighting for the custody of her son. In Bullworth, she played the role of an intelligent woman and received wide appreciation for her performance. She excelled in her portrayal of a singer in "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" {1998}. Halle also co-starred with Bruce Willis in "Perfect Stranger" {2007} and "Things We Lost in the Fire" {2007} with Benicio Del Toro.
