Halle Berry Personal Life

Halle Berry aka Halle Maria Berry was born on 14th August 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, US. She was born to inter-racial parents. Her mother, Judith Ann Hawkins is an English and father, Jerome Jesse Berry is an African-American. Interestingly Halle derived her first name from that of 'Halle's Department store', which was then a local landmark in Cleveland. Halle's parents divorced when she turned four. Her mother who worked as a psychiatric nurse raised Halle and sent her to Bedford High School. At School Halle excelled as a student and became quite popular among the students. She was class president, cheerleader, editor of the school newspaper and was also the prom queen. She later attended Cuyahoga Community College and studied broadcast journalism.

Halle soon grew up into a very beautiful girl. Stepping into her teens, this amazing beauty entered several beauty contests. The grace and charm she exuberated at beauty pageants has won her several crowns like 'Miss Teen All-American', 'Miss Ohio, USA' and 'Miss America' first runner-up in 1986. In search of a career in showbiz world, Halle landed her first short-lived television sitcom, "living Dolls" in 1989. Suddenly this living doll while on the sets reportedly lapsed into a coma and later in a diagnosis, she was found to be suffering from type 1 Diabetes.
